Please join us for the first 2009 EA Workshop on February 5th as we explore the current environment for entrepreneurs seeking “angel” and early stage investment to grow their business.
An experienced panel of angel investors and successfully funded entrepreneurs will discuss
“Angel & Early Stage Funding for Emerging Growth Companies,” sharing their insights and answering your questions. Topics include: how to make your firm “investor-ready,” preparing your business plan for investors, what angel investors are looking for in the way of equity and returns, and the elements of a successful presentation to angel investors.
Workshop Moderator:
Mark S. Kaduboski, Partner, Wiggin & Dana
Mark is a partner in Wiggin and Dana's Business Practice Department who regularly represents emerging technology companies and other closely-held businesses on a wide range of corporate matters, including capital-raising, commercial transactions and acquisitions/divestitures. Mark is a member of the Board of Directors of the Stamford chapter of the Connecticut Venture Group. He received his B.A. in History with honors from Yale University and his J.D. with high honors from Boston College Law School.

Doug Campbell, Managing Director of The Success Coach
and Angel Investor
As an experienced entrepreneur who has built five businesses and a former marketing director for a Fortune 100 company, Doug works with entrepreneurs to take their business to the next level by helping them in a board of advisors/strategic coach role. In addition, he facilitates workshops on team building and strategy for companies as their businesses reach new stages in their business development. As a member of the National Speakers Association, he frequently speaks to companies, trade associations, and organizations on business and entrepreneurship topics. Doug has been profiled in the Wall Street Journal, Bottom Line Business, the Stamford Advocate, and Investor's Business Daily. He has also been recently hired by Wells Fargo Bank as a business expert, interviewed on Cablevision, and is a member of the brain trust for the Jim Blasingame’s Small Business Radio Network.
Andy Hanson, Angel Investor, Founder of the Connecticut Angel Guild, and Senior Executive of several startups
Andy Hanson heads Redwood Investment Management of Stamford, CT. Andy is the founder of the Connecticut Angel Guild, a member of the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Venture Group, and chairs the Judging Committee for the Crossroads Venture Fair. He has taken an active role as an angel, and served, from time to time, as Chief Financial Officer of his companies and Chief Executive Officer of one. His current interests include health care, energy and environmental businesses, and businesses that reduce distribution or transaction costs. Andy received an MBA from Northwestern University.
Mark Volchek, Chairman and Chief Financial Officer, Higher One
Mark is a one of the founders of Higher One. Higher One, founded in 2000, provides higher education institutions and their students with efficient, convenient and easy-to-use solutions to handle financial disbursements. Higher One was named Number 12 on Entrepreneur Magazine’s 2008 Hot List of the fastest growing companies in the U.S. Mark has a BA and MA in Economics from Yale University and was a founding officer of the Yale Entrepreneurial Society (YES). Appointed to and elected Chairman of the Tweed New Haven Airport Authority in 2007, Mark is actively involved in promoting economic development initiatives in the New Haven area.
